O presidente do Senado, Davi Alcolumbre, informou nesta terça-feira (19) que a senadora Mara Gabrilli (PSDB-SP) está com covid-19. O exame que apresentou resultado positivo foi feito pela senadora na segunda-feira (18). Davi leu uma carta encaminhada pela senadora com a notícia.
Desde o início da pandemia de coronavírus, a senadora está reclusa em seu apartamento, na cidade de São Paulo, de onde participa das sessões remotas do Senado. É possível que parlamentar tenha contraído o vírus de uma de suas cuidadoras, que também está com covid-19, e cuja mãe faleceu na última semana devido a essa doença.
A senadora explicou que, a exemplo de outras pessoas em suas condições, não conseguiria sequer sair da cama sem a ajuda das cuidadoras.
“É preciso alertar para o fato de que eu, senadora da República, com todos os cuidados tomados, não consegui ficar imune à doença. Imaginem quantos brasileiros, espalhados por todo o Brasil, não estão passando pela mesma situação. São pessoas que precisam de um familiar ou um cuidador profissional para se alimentarem, se locomoverem e se higienizarem”, ressaltou ela.
Mara Gabrilli destacou que já havia protocolado diversas propostas que integram um pacote emergencial para pessoas com deficiência e em situações de vulnerabilidade desde o início da pandemia. E pediu empenho dos colegas para a aprovação das medidas.
“Se trabalharmos para concretizar essas propostas e esses apoios, além de consubstanciar um manifesto do Senado de solidariedade e respeito diante das limitações alheias, assumiremos um verdadeiro compromisso no resgate da dignidade e da valorização da pessoa humana.”.
